The Cat's Meow Jazz & Blues Corner is a different kind of store. Most CD stores are owned by businessmen that know nothing about the music they sell. Jeffrey and Jim are both collector's of jazz & blues recordings. Jeffrey has hosted a jazz program on KLCC Sundays for over 23 years. Jim is an arranger, composer and multi-intrumentalist. He is also director of the jazz group Swing Shift. We know what it's like to want to hear something so badly that you can taste it and will work as hard as we can to help you fill those hard to find requests!
We will take the time to look for the obscure recordings that other stores would ignore. Our inventory is heavily weighted towards independent and artist produced labels. We have a large stock of European imports and access to thousands of import titles. We carry all styles and ages of jazz, from Ragtime to No Time, Louis Armstrong to John Zorn. All ages and styles of Blues are carried, too,
We have a large collection of jazz periodicals, the Penguin Guide, the All Music Guide and other books that customers can look at to peruse reviews. There are over 2000 cds open for listening. We sell Jazz Times and distribute the free NW Comic News and the free KLCC/KLCO program guide. We gladly make recommendations to match your taste to the right cd.
